Golden Lions

This bar has the best Happy Hour in town, cheap, strong drinks...but that all it has. This bar would be a great setting for a John Waters film, run-down and campy. The ceiling is caving in, wet moldy tiles abound, and the pool tables are uneven. Go if you like for a couple cheap drinks, but don't linger.

You can never go wrong with Golden Lion's -- well, you can if you go in expecting a loud, crazy, club with lots of pretty boys and the typical gay night club experience. That's not what Golden Lions is. GL is all about the people that come in who just want to hang out and have a drink. Yea, it is crazy and insane and night-clubby sometimes, but go in just to have a couple drinks with friends. That's what it's there for.

It has been a while but I have had some fun there. I have been in some very weird situations there too, some very nice, others traumatic. Being told when to tip when you tip good is pretty bad. I plan to see what is new and will go back and give a new review. Could use some new bartenders from the ones I remember.

They've always served me weak drinks. Maybe I have a bad attitude. When we were teens we called this place "Golden Trolls". The place is ugly and they feature amateur djs.

great neighborhood bar. bartenders are fabulous. ask for bruce the manager, he's a hoot. awesome drink prices.
